Leadership Coaching

The demands on leaders are escalating.  Partnering with a coach provides an additional opportunity for success for leaders taking on new challenges.  We have a track record of working with C-level (executive) leaders, high-potential and succession candidates, and newly hired or promoted leaders onboarding and assimilation (first 100-days).

Coaching can accelerate development in a variety of areas including:  gaining greater self-awareness and confidence, building executive presence, developing a more authentic personal leadership brand, improving communication or presentation skills, building stronger relationships with peers, direct reports or supervisors, becoming more empathetic, or building a more collaborative team.

The Work of Leaders Model:  Vision, Alignment, Execution (VAE)

The work that leaders do – the work that really matters – is boiled down to three areas:  crafting a vision, building alignment, and championing execution.

  • Crafting a Vision:  imagining an improved future state that the group will make a reality through it’s work
  • Building Alignment:  getting to the point where everyone in the group understands and is committed to the direction
  • Championing Execution:  ensuring that the conditions are present for the imagined future to be turned into a reality

This model lays out a manageable, realistic framework that can be very useful for a recently promoted or hired leader. For some leaders, taking the Work of Leaders assessment or 360 degree feedback is a useful complement to the coaching process. In addition to the two assessment tools above, it is also possible to provide targeted coaching for 1-1 relationships as noted in this sample comparison report.

“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”

– John Quincy Adams
